Dr. Sandra Sluberski

E-RYT-500, YACEP, Kirtan Leader, Professional Vocalist, Vocal Instructor/Coach, Voiceover Recording Artist

SANDRA BOYSEN SLUBERSKI is a 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT500) through Yoga Alliance and teaches at both the Online Yoga School through the Yoga & Ayurveda Center, and at The Hochstein School in Rochester, NY.

Sandra’s love of yoga began in 2010 when she took classes which combined yoga and ballet barre stretches. She began her 200-hour yoga teacher training with Steph Ball-Mitchell of the Yoga & Ayurveda Center in 2019, earning her 200-hour certification in 2020 and her 300-hour certification in 2021, along with four additional certificates in different yogic disciplines, and continues learning and studying as an eternal student of life itself. For details, please visit her yoga website at www.sbsyogaworx.com.
Drawing on an early fascination with mythology, and spurred on by her father’s Northern European heritage and her mother’s Irish and Native American heritage, Sandra embraced yoga mythology during her 200-hour training, culminating in her Seva Project which was centered around the many mythological characters in The Ramayana. The connection between yoga mythology and chant, coupled with her decades as a professional vocal performer and vocal coach, gave her the opportunity to present Yoga Mythology Vinyasa classes, both online and in person. She’s also given workshops on chanting with singing bowls, and is an Ambassador for The Ohm Store, a global supplier of singing bowls (www.theohmstore.co), for which she’s also provided web videos and essays.
In August 2022, she and artist Cecilia Engvall, who also did her 300YTT with Steph Ball-Mitchell, released their book, Taking Myths to the Mat, as a paperback on Amazon, as an eBook on Amazon Kindle, and as an audio book through Audible, Amazon’s audiobook distributor. This is a companion book to this YACEP course.

Sandra performed nationally and internationally as a vocalist for over four decades, in genres from leading roles in American opera houses, Tagalog folk songs throughout the Philippines, touring the continental US for 3 years with a vocal quartet, and taking the stage in Manhattan's famed "Don't Tell Mama" Cabaret, to name just a few. Her operatic and musical roles ranged from Mozart to Andrew Lloyd Webber’s heroines, from edgy symbolic figures to sassy comedic women, and she has over 60 concert and oratorio solo roles to her credit – visit the Stage Roles page on her music web site www.sbsvocalworx.com to see them all!
She’s also proud to have been the soloist for several world premieres:
• 2017 - world premiere of "Equality Now!" by Gwyneth Walker, commissioned by the Telos Trio
for the 100th anniversary of the Women's Rights Amendment in NY State.
• 2007 - world premiere of American composer Paul Stuart's song cycle, How Did I Get So Old?

• 2003 - the New York premiere of the Grammy-nominated children's musical, The Journey of Sir

• 2002 - Paul Stuart's opera, The Sisters of Manzanar, portraying the degradation experienced by
Japanese Americans in U.S. internment camps after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941; performances with the Equinox Symphony Orchestra and the Kodak Theatre on the Ridge in Rochester, NY.
